Responsibilities
- Provide specialist-level anaesthesia and analgesia services for complicated and high-risk cases.
- Conduct pre-anaesthetic assessments, risk stratification, and formulate tailored anaesthesia and pain management plans.
- Oversee intra-operative anaesthetic monitoring and management, ensuring patient safety throughout procedures.
- Lead the development and refinement of hospital protocols for anaesthesia, sedation, and multimodal pain management.
- Supervise and mentor veterinary staff and veterinary technicians in anaesthetic planning, monitoring, and patient care.
- Collaborate with surgeons, internists, and emergency teams to ensure coordinated peri-operative care.
- Manage complex postoperative pain and recovery.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure documentation meets veterinary standards and regulatory requirements.
- Stay current with emerging clinical evidence and continuously maintain professional development.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution
- Registered with HKVSB as a Specialist in Anaesthesia and Analgesia (or eligible for registration).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and manage anaesthesia-related work flow challenges.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
