It is for me a great pleasure and honour to inform you that Congress Registration for the 13th WCVA is now officially open!
You will all relevant information on the congress website: www.wcvavenice2018.eu
The congress will be held in Venice, in a modern Conference Centre (Terminal 103, https://www.vtp.it/img/2016/11/presentazione-terminal-103-ENG.pdf), close to the railway station and on the edge of the historic city of Venice. The facility is easy to reach (further information on the website), and Mestre, on the other side of “Ponte della Libertà”, connecting Venice to the mainland, offers accommodation options ranging from budget to luxury.
The Welcome Reception will be held at the meeting Venue on Tuesday 25th September 2018. A masked Gala Dinner and ball will be held the following evening in the stunning Ca’ Vendramin Palace (the Casinò Palace, the oldest Casinò in the world, http://www.casinovenezia.it/en/venues/cavendramincalergi).
Thursday afternoon and evening you will be able to join (limited places available) a bout tour visiting the beautiful Murano and Burano.
Last, but not least, although you should have by now enough reasons to attend a memorable WCVA meeting, I need to mention the scientific programme. Topics treated will be Ketamine,
ventilation, haemodynamic monitoring, use of point of care ultrasound in anaesthesia and preoperative care, stabilisation for colics, management of the critically ill foal, and ethics of
end of life and in palliative care, with considerations relevant for both humans and animals. Comparative anaesthesia and perioperative care is the core subject of this meeting, driven by
the charisma and knowledge of internationally known speakers. Please check the programme at https://www.wcvavenice2018.eu/images/pdf/WCVA2018_Provisional_programme.pdf
On Saturday, with programme still to be defined (coming soon) there will be a “post congress day” on locoregional anaesthesia in veterinary medicine.
This event will be a great chance to meet old friends and colleagues in a beautiful setting while attending what I believe is a Congress with a fantastic scientific (and social!!) programme.
