Course Description: This ESAVS Certificate Program for veterinary nurses and technicians provides advanced education in veterinary anesthesia, analgesia, and perioperative care, addressing the increasing expectations of both the veterinary profession and animal owners. It is designed for licensed animal health technicians and nurses with a strong interest in small animal anesthesia, analgesia, and perioperative care, as well as those considering a future pathway toward becoming a Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) in Anesthesia & Analgesia.
The program consists of three modules, combining traditional lectures and laboratory/workshop training with modern online and on-demand learning formats. In addition, it offers participants the opportunity to obtain certification in basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques through the RECOVER Initiative of the International Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Society (IVECCS).
