AVA 2019 Spring meeting 20-23 March
We are delighted to invite everybody to the AVA 2019 Spring meeting in Bristol from the 20th to 23rd of March.
We are excited to be able to present a strong scientific program with a great team of speakers, and to welcome you to our vibrant, historic city!
Pre-congress day – Laboratory animal anaesthesia Anaesthesia and pain management
Main Congress day one – Developing consensus guidelines for pre-anaesthetic preparation of Horses, Ruminants and Small Animals.
Main Congress day two – Pain day – Differing aspects of pain physiology and management, round table discussion considering controversies in peri-operative NSAID administration.
Both of the main congress days will feature abstract and poster sessions – with sufficient time in the middle of the day to enjoy lunch, attend an AVA general meeting and quiz the poster authors!
Nursing Day – Anaesthesia for the respiratory patient covering peri- anaesthetic considerations, monitoring for the respiratory patient and featuring a practical, case based approach this will give participants a solid grounding in management techniques required for this difficult patient group.
Naturally there will be a strong social program, with our Welcome Reception on the Historic SS Great Britain, and a sumptuous Gala Dinner in the famous Bristol Harbour hotel.
Those with an exploratory bent can enjoy the street art made famous by Banksy, dive into the Bristol music scene aboard the infamous Thekla, take endless selfies with an army of Gromits, or just enjoy a glorious sunset across the Avon Gorge whilst nursing a pint of local Cider.
