Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough pre-anesthetic evaluations to assess patient health and anesthesia risks.
- Employ advanced monitoring techniques, such as pulse oximetry, capnography, and blood pressure monitoring, to ensure patient safety during procedures.
- Develop and implement customized anesthetic protocols tailored to each patient’s needs and medical history.
- Collaborate effectively with veterinary surgeons, technicians, and pet owners to provide comprehensive anesthetic care.
- Administer anesthesia and monitor patients throughout surgical procedures, making real-time adjustments as necessary.
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in veterinary anesthesia and pursue ongoing professional development.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation in compliance with veterinary standards.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution
- Registered with HKVSB.
- Post-graduate qualifications in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia will be advantageous but not essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and manage anaesthesia-related work flow challenges.
- Excellent communication skills to convey anaesthetic information for patient handover and occasionally to pet owners.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
