Format: In-person modules across Europe, with structured personal mentorship (case review and one-to-one calls) between modules
Course Description: A five-module, nine-month mentorship for practicing small-animal veterinarians, led by Dr. Manuela Pascal, Dipl. ECVAA (Honorary Secretary, ECVAA), with faculty of EBVS-recognised specialists in veterinary anaesthesia and analgesia.
Modules combine structured lectures, high-fidelity simulation, and small-group practical training (maximum five participants per station), progressing from equipment and monitoring through pharmacology and protocol design, multimodal analgesia and RECOVER-based resuscitation, locoregional techniques, and anaesthesia in the compromised patient.
Between modules, participants submit anaesthetic cases and reflective exercises from their own clinical practice for individual review by specialist veterinary anaesthetists, plus one-to-one live online mentoring calls, so clinical learning continues in the nine months between sessions rather than lapsing.
Participants who complete all five modules and pass the final written and practical (simulation-based) examinations are awarded the SkillVet Certificate in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia.
